The Cascades, a 500 foot spillway descending to Geyser Basin, flowed at a rate of 8,000 gallons of water per minute and was lit from underneath with 1500 water-proof lights in six primary colors.</font>]]></slide>

While Olmsted retained the overall slope of the hill, he did grade much of it to smooth the surface and create terraces throughout the fair grounds.
