The Forestry Building was placed in a prominent location at the termination of Yukon Avenue (the only other building at a terminus was the U.S. Government Building) and was allocated the most construction funds out of the seven Washington State-sponsored buildings.</font>]]></slide>

Constructed of 1.5 million board feet of native fir and cedar from Snohomish County, some 6 feet in diameter and 54-feet long, it celebrated the abundance of the region's timber resources.</font>]]></slide>

After the A-Y-P, the building remained a tourist attraction and was used as a museum until it was declared unsafe by University engineers in 1921. As the bark was intentionally left on the logs and proper measures were not taken to preserve the timbers once in place, dry rot and insect infestation set in quickly after construction. While efforts began in 1912 to preserve the building, it was condemned in 1925 and demolished in 1930.</font>]]></slide>
