Short bio :

The primary goal of the academic work I am doing, and hope to continue to do in pursuit of an MD, is to be able to integrate my knowledge of biology, healthcare systems, and bioethical thought at the point of care as a physician. I hope to work with children and serve on the ethics board of a hospital. I believe that physicians have a duty to be well versed in ethics as it pertains to medical, public health, and research issues. While I appreciate that the duties of a physician are already demanding, I think they should make healthcare decisions keeping in mind the broader contexts in which their patients operate. Further, knowing that the responsibility of ethical deliberation does not lie solely on the physician, I hope to work in collaboration with other professionals from various disciplines such as social workers, dietitians, nurses, hospice workers, etc., to most effectively combat health inequities.
