It will open again in September 2026.<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Deadlines:<\/strong><br \/>Domestic Applications: December 1, 2026 (11:59 p.m. Pacific Time)<br \/>International Applications: December 1, 2026 (11:59 p.m. Pacific Time)<\/p>\n<p>We admit students to start in Autumn Quarter each year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Criteria for admission:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Admissions Requirements<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required by the Graduate School.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must have completed a baccalaureate or advanced degree by the time of matriculation; degrees emphasizing biology, physical sciences, and mathematics are preferred.<\/li>\n<li>International students must meet all English language proficiency requirements set by the Graduate School for admission and TA appointment. See <a href=\"https:\/\/grad.uw.edu\/policies\/3-2-graduate-school-english-language-proficiency-requirements\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/grad.uw.edu\/policies\/3-2-graduate-school-english-language-proficiency-requirements\/\">Policy 3.2: Graduate School English Language Proficiency Requirements<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/grad.uw.edu\/policies\/5-2-conditions-of-appointment-for-tas-who-are-not-native-speakers-of-english\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/grad.uw.edu\/policies\/5-2-conditions-of-appointment-for-tas-who-are-not-native-speakers-of-english\/\">Policy 5.2: Conditions of Appointment for TAs who are not Native Speakers of English<\/a> for minimum test scores and other ways to satisfy proficiency requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note:&nbsp;GRE scores are not required and, if submitted, will not be considered during the admissions decision process.<\/p>\n<p>We consider all indicators of future success, including past research experience, the level of enthusiasm and detail in letters of recommendation, undergraduate records, the applicant&#8217;s written statement of purpose, and an ability to discuss research and future goals during an interview.
