Date & Time:
The Department of Linguistics is excited to celebrate the Class of 2020. Join us on Friday, June 12 at noon on Facebook and the Linguistics’ Youtube channel for our unique graduation ceremony to celebrate your successes, learn about your plans, and wish you well on your future adventures.
We invite you to submit a 1-2 minute video describing your best memories of studying Linguistics at the UW, such as the most interesting class you have ever taken, or the most exciting project you have done, or just simply a funny linguistic joke, as well as your plans for the future.
Please submit by May 15. Upload your video to your Google Drive or similar and send the link to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. We’ll download your video and look forward to “seeing” you on June 12! (Tip for shooting your video: shoot it in landscape mode – horizontal.)
By submitting a video, you consent to its release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by the Department of Linguistics and its affiliates and representatives. Images, photos and/or videos may be used to promote similar Linguistics Department events in the future, highlight the event and exhibit the capabilities of the Linguistics Department. You release the University, Department of Linguistics, its staff, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication and use of interviews, photographs, computer images, video and/or or sound recordings. By submitting the video, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any use, exhibition, streaming, web casting, televising, or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such use, exhibiting, broadcasting, web casting, or other publication. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by the Department of Linguistics or the person or entity designated to do so by the Department of Linguistics. You have been fully informed of your consent, waiver of liability, and release before entering the event. If you have any questions, please contact a linguistics staff member or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
