Greetings to all UW Department of Communication graduates, families, and friends. We are so excited to be able to host the ceremony and celebrate the achievements of our graduates in-person this year. The Class of 2022 endured extraordinary circumstances, and we are grateful to celebrate your time at the UW!

The UW Department of Communication Graduation Celebration will be held on Tuesday, June 07, 2022 in the Alaska Airlines Arena at the Hec Edmundson Pavilion.  The ceremony will run from 1 - 3 PM.

Our keynote speaker will be Naomi Ishisaka who is the Assistant Managing Editor for Diversity, Inclusion and Staff Development and the Social Justice Columnist for The Seattle Times. She is a journalist and photographer who focuses on racial equity and social justice. In 2020, she was awarded first place in the Best in the West competition for Special Topics Column Writing for her work in The Seattle Times and in 2021 she won second place for social justice columns from the National Society of Newspaper Columnists.
