If you wish to park on campus, parking permits will be required for this event. Students should purchase these permits for themselves and their guests through the Commencement Registration/Order Form, May 1st to May 19, 2024. Day of parking may be available for additional cost, but lot selection and availability are not guaranteed.

The English Graduation Ceremony is open to students who graduated in Autumn 2023, Winter 2024, and for those students who have applied formally to graduate in Spring or Summer 2024. All eligible students will be emailed an invitation to complete a survey regarding their plans for graduation. The survey invitation will be sent to students' UW email address on Wednesday, April 17th, and students will have until 12pm on Wednesday, May 15th to complete the survey. For questions about and/or assistance with the survey, please email englgrad@uw.edu.

PhD graduates are required to wear regalia. Regalia is optional for all other graduates.
Ticket Information
Ticket Pick-Up: Graduates must pick up their guest tickets in the hallway outside of the English Department main office (Padelford Hall, South Entrance, A Wing, Room A-101, by the display case) on Wednesday, May 29th, or Thursday, May 30th.. A staff member will be on-hand from 10:00am to 4:00pm on those dates to process your ticket requests. Please bring identification. Meany Hall requires tickets of all guests attending the ceremony. The graduate does not need a ticket.
Will Call Options: If you are unable to pick-up your guest tickets from the English Department Main Office on May 29th or May 30th, please plan to pick them up between 1:00pm and 1:45pm on June 5th in the lobby at the north entrance to Meany Hall. Staff members will be on-hand to distribute tickets during that hour. Please bring identification. Tickets are numbered, limited, and cannot be replaced: please treat them like gold! All guests will be required to present tickets for admission to Meany Theatre.
