{"id":840,"date":"2023-07-21T14:35:04","date_gmt":"2023-07-21T21:35:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/cfar\/wordpress\/?page_id=840"},"modified":"2026-02-26T11:58:00","modified_gmt":"2026-02-26T19:58:00","slug":"clinical-and-comorbidity-research-core","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/cfar\/cores\/clinical-and-comorbidity-research-core\/","title":{"rendered":"Clinical and Comorbidity Research Core"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"intro\">The Clinical and Comorbidity Research Core helps researchers access and interpret the comprehensive database of the UW HIV Cohort Study.<\/p>\n<p>The UW HIV Cohort is an ongoing observational study adults living with HIV who have received primary care in the UW Madison HIV Clinic and the UW Virology Clinic from January 1, 1995 to the present. Using a database (UW HIV Information System) integrating clinical data and banked specimens, the Core supports researchers, providing longitudinal data from people living with HIV and expertise in clinical epidemiology and health services research.<\/p>\n<p>The database can be used to identify patients for enrollment into interventional studies; for retrospective and prospective observational studies; and for basic and translational research. Cohort Study data can also help investigators assess study feasibility, prepare grant proposals, and conduct clinical research. To request information on patients in the UWHIS, please complete the request form. Your request will be forwarded to the Core Coordinator, Stephen Van Rompaey.
