sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h2>Call for Applications: CF Research Development Program Training Grants<\/h2>\n<p><strong>First Stage Applications due: <\/strong><strong><u>May 1, 2025<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The University of Washington Cystic Fibrosis Research Development Program (UW-RDP) is seeking applications for up to 3 fellows for pre- or post-doctoral fellowship positions in laboratory-based research.\u00a0 Pre-doctoral applicants should be a Ph.D. candidate who has finished all coursework and is working in the laboratory on research as a part of a Ph.D. thesis project.\u00a0 Post-doctoral applicants may have M.D., Ph.D., D.V.M, D.O. or equivalent degree(s) and be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or non-resident working in a U.S. based laboratory. Funds are available for up to 2 years, and include a stipend, laboratory supplies and travel funds. <strong>The trainee must pursue a research question of direct relevance to cystic fibrosis<\/strong>. Examples of relevant topics include but are not exclusive to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Lung microbiology and chronic infection.<\/li>\n<li>Bacterial-host cell interactions including inflammation and immune responses to infection<\/li>\n<li>Bacterial physiology and antibiotic resistance as related to chronic airway infections<\/li>\n<li>Lung transplantation<\/li>\n<li>Other lab-based CF research with a translational focus<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>We use a 2-stage application process. <\/strong>Applicants should provide a 2 page application summary that includes project title, relevance of the research question to CF, key preliminary results and methods, and specific aims proposed. Applications should also include an NIH formatted biosketches for the trainee and mentor for fellowships. Biosketches and literature cited are not included in the page limit. <u>First stage applications are due <strong>May 1, 2025<\/strong>.<\/u> Selected applicants will be asked for full proposals to be submitted thereafter. <u>Awardees must participate in UW CF Center activities, such as the seminar series and CF annual retreat, and trainees must apply for additional fellowship as their project develops. <\/u><\/p>\n<p>Signatures from institutional officials are <strong>NOT<\/strong> required for the application at this time.
