I know you all have been patiently waiting to hear some good news about the 700 NMR getting online again and here is the good news.\u00a0 As I write this, I will be able to release the instrument for regular use not later than 1 pm today.<\/p>\n
Second,\u00a0 the probe that will be ready for you is the BBO-Z-gradient<\/strong> probe.\u00a0 I know that this will bring a happy smile on many of your faces and I too am happy that you can get the data you have been waiting for.<\/p>\n The intermittent icing problem is still not a resolved issue.\u00a0 So, my under-the-surface investigation will continue while you are performing routine NMR.\u00a0 The upshot of this is that, once in a while I will announce that the system will need to be thawed out before the regular use can continue (might last several hours).\u00a0 You most probably will see small interruptions on a weekly basis (under an hour duration), when we refill the LN2 tank that supplies N2 gas for temperature control.<\/p>\n This probe is eminently suited for low T operation as before.
