{"id":2457,"date":"2021-04-30T18:11:43","date_gmt":"2021-05-01T01:11:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/chemwp\/chemwpnmr\/?p=2457"},"modified":"2021-04-30T18:23:16","modified_gmt":"2021-05-01T01:23:16","slug":"gentle-reminder-we-are-in-this-together-covid-conscious-choices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/chemwp\/chemwpnmr\/2021\/04\/gentle-reminder-we-are-in-this-together-covid-conscious-choices\/","title":{"rendered":"GENTLE REMINDER :  WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER&#8230;.COVID CONSCIOUS CHOICES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear NMR Facility Users, Visitors and Patrons<\/p>\n<p>A little more than a Year after plunging ourselves into a new reality of an alternate Timeline,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I think we all can take a moment to look back and feel rightfully good that the vast majority of us have followed COVID appropriate recommendations diligently in letter and spirit.<\/p>\n<p>First, a big THANK YOU to all of you who heeded the calls of our Department, the University and the Well Wishers at large in our Society to help eradicate the menace of this Pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>But, this fight is not over yet.\u00a0 Looking at News from around the world,\u00a0 we are sadly reminded in real time,\u00a0 what might come of letting down one&#8217;s guard prematurely, even for a brief period of time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This is a gentle but unequivocal reminder that we all need to follow the originally set guidelines related to COVID-19, when using the NMR facility as well as other common areas in the Department.\u00a0 THERE IS NO CHANGE IN THIS EXPECTATION WHATSOEVER, notwithstanding the good news of Vaccines being available now to help with this fight.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0 Until we get modified official notification\u00a0 from the University of Washington governing authorities and the Department of Chemistry,\u00a0 we are all expected to follow the original COVID-19 Guidelines diligently for everyone&#8217;s safety.\u00a0 Here is a quick link to the Department Web Page for your convenience:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/chem.washington.edu\/guidelines-conducting-research-during-safe-start\">https:\/\/chem.washington.edu\/guidelines-conducting-research-during-safe-start<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I draw your attention to these points on section &#8220;<strong>Face Masks and Gloves&#8221;\u00a0 in particular :<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8221;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Face masks are required at all times in common areas, hallways, and shared departmental facilities.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Face coverings (masks) are considered part of your personal attire. They are not considered laboratory PPE.
