AV500 &#8211; SYSTEM IS BACK TO NORMAL &#8211;  WITH AN IMPORTANT REMINDER"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Users<\/p>\n<p>There was a network disruption between the computer and console, leading to a temporary failure of the system this morning.\u00a0 This has been since resolved and all the vital signs of the instrument looks good.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>PLEASE REMEMBER :\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>But here is an important reminder to all users in the proper handling of the Probe Head that makes\/breaks your NMR experience on this instrument.\u00a0 See the picture below : <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/chemwp\/chemwpnmr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/TXO_500_Probe-e1429208185874.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1263\" src=\"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/chemwp\/chemwpnmr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/TXO_500_Probe-1024x768.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"624\" height=\"468\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Part of the shimming problem reported by users is related to the above.\u00a0\u00a0 When I checked the system, this <strong>&#8220;GOLD&#8221;<\/strong> knob has been loosened considerably and the probehead has been pulled down from its correct vertical position.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Even a single mm of vertical displacement of the probe can make your shimming go haywire.\u00a0 This GOLD knobs are there to keep the probe securely attached to the magnet bottom.\u00a0 THEY ARE NOT FOR TUNING ANY NUCLEUS !!!\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THESE KNOBS.\u00a0 PAY ATTENTION TO THE CORRECT COLOR CODE OF THE KNOBS FOR TUNING THE RESPECTIVE NUCLEI. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you are in doubt, reach out for help.<\/p>\n<p>NMR Facility Manager<\/p>\n<p>11\/8\/2021<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Users There was a network disruption between the computer and console, leading to a temporary failure of the system this morning.\u00a0 This has been since resolved and all the vital signs of the instrument looks good.
