Dear Users<\/p>\n

In the span of next week, you will see a ‘twin incarnation’ of the automatic sample handler that you see on NEO500 called SampleCase, appearing alongside the GG500 system and tested.\u00a0 We will give a headsup as to when this will happen with as much lead time as possible, but the installation process and testing should be completed within a given day, at the extreme.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The expectation is that we will move the use of GG500 primarily along the lines of NEO500 where the users can walk and submit the samples without blocking NMR time, mostly. I say ‘mostly’ because, some of you might find value in the ability to interactively drive the instrument from the Topspin command line, yet.\u00a0\u00a0 We are thinking through a protocol that can accomodate the possibility of providing both automated and occassional interactive use.\u00a0 More will be communicated later.<\/p>\n

At least initially,\u00a0 the usage of GG500 will continue in the current style, even with the SampleCase attached to the magnet.\u00a0\u00a0 The ‘ej’ + ‘ij ‘<\/strong> command combination will be replaced by the simple incantation “sx <holder no>”.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

More will be forthcoming about this new hardware upgrade. Stay tuned !<\/p>\n
