<\/a><\/p>\nWhen in South Africa I was faced with many questions\u2026some more perplexing than others. They ranged from simple things like \u201cwhere is that cow going?\u201d or \u201cwhy are their school uniforms blue?\u201d to much more complicated questions. Now, entering my 7th month of being back in Seattle, the questions that have persisted are not the simple questions, but rather the ones I\u2019m afraid have no answer. In my project, I address the chaos that South Africa has left in me by asking questions. In all aspects of my life, I have found that when I am brave enough to ask the big questions, I am introduced to answers inside of myself that I didn’t know were there. Part of me hopes that someday I can return and further explore South Africa in an attempt to answer these questions\u2026but my more realistic self knows that most of my questions might never be answered.<\/p>\n
For this project in particular, I combined journal entries with photos to ask about three things: the idea of distance, the contrast of two cultures, and the general complexities of humanity.<\/p>\n
