Eating & Endocrine Disorders – Functional Magnetic Resonance (fMRI) Brain Imaging in Patients with Hypothalamic Obesity

In collaboration with Dr. Ellen Schur at the University of Washington, the Roth lab is testing the feasibility and promise of using fMRI to assess if hypothalamic lesions in craniopharyngioma patients lead to changes in brain response in regions involved in appetite and food reward and if these changes are correlated with post-meal changes in satiety-regulating hormones.
