VISTA
| Background | Data Sets |
This page is based on work completed by Shirley Broughton, RD MPH, during her MPH practicum experience at the University of Washington.

Background

VISTA/PH, Software for Public Health assessment has been developed by the Seattle-King County Department of Public Health, Epidemiology, planning and Evaluation Unit. Under an agreement with the State of Washington Department of Health, VISTA has been made available to each health jurisdiction in the state. The VISTA program is a menu-driven, user-friendly program that provides access to a variety of databases for community assessment. This software is not available to the public as there are concerns about confidentiality, but local health department personnel should be able to help those interested in community nutrition assessment data find the information that they need.

Data Sets

  • Census Data
  • Hospital Discharge Data (CHARS)
  • Birth Certificate Data
  • Death Certificate Data
  • Reportable Communicable Disease Data
  • Abortion Data
  • Food Borne Illness
