On Thursday May 30, 2019, CFRM Program Director, Professor Tim Leung, spoke for the CFA Investment Trustee Education Workshop<\/a> at the Rainier Club in downtown Seattle. Organized by the CFA Institute, this workshop is designed to help trustees understand key terminology and characteristics of investment instruments and performance evaluation, what board members of endowments, pension plans and foundations need to know to carry out their fiduciary duties prudently and engage in meaningful discussion and decisions regarding investment policy statements and asset allocation.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The financial market is constantly evolving, so it’s important for investment trustees and investors in general to know more about new financial products and instruments, as well as new regulations. This is useful not only for investment purposes but also risk management.” said Prof. Leung, who gave a presentation on financial derivatives and ETFs, with focus on their market mechanism and associated risks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Previously, Professor <\/span>Leung had been an invited panelist for the panel called “At the Intersection of Finance and Technology<\/a>”\u00a0organized by the\u00a0CFA Society Seattle. The CFRM program has been an academic sponsor to a series of CFA events over the year, including the Annual CFA Economic Forecast Dinner<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n
