Cruise Description

In 1995, a 19 day cruise took place in the spring, low-flow period for the Columbia River. Five 30-hour series, as well as a long 111-hour series comprised the sampling scheme.


Vessels

The 1995 research trip took place during the spring, intermediate flow period of the Columbia River. The R/V Robert Gordon Sproul, from Scripps Oceanographic Institute in San Diego, CA, was utilized for sedimentological, geochemical, microbial and ecological investigations.

Geophysical investigations in were conducted from the R/V Clifford Barnes, a research vessel from the University of Washington's School of Oceanography in Seattle, WA.

Letter Code: U upstream; D downstream; N neap tide; S spring tide; L long series
First Digit: Tidal Series
Second Digit: Sequence in Tidal Series

Example: U11 refers to the first sequence in the first upstream tidal series.
