Cruise Description

The second of four seasonal seasonal cruises took took place in the summer of 1997. The cruise consisted of one upriver, three ebb and one flood, two spring and two neao, and a downriver series.


Vessels

The R/V Robert Gordon Sproul, from Scripps Oceanographic Institute in San Diego, CA, was utilized for sedimentological, geochemical, microbial and ecological investigations.

Geophysical investigations in were conducted from the R/V Clifford Barnes, a research vessel from the University of Washington's School of Oceanography in Seattle, WA.

Letter Code: U upstream; D downstream; N neap tide; S spring tide
First Digit: Tidal Series
Second Digit: Sequence in Tidal Series

Example: U11 refers to the first sequence in the first upstream tidal series.
