Sediment dynamics

Denise Reed
Denise Reed is an associate professor in the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the University of New Orleans. Dr. Reed's research interests in the geomorphology and hydrology of coastal marshes and estuaries include sediment dynamics, sediment deposition, and accretionary processes necessary for marshes to combat relative sea-level rise. Current projects include sediment dynamics in the estuarine turbidity maximum of the Columbia River estuary, evaluation of sedimentation on Brady Canal Marsh Restoration Project, sedimentation and elevation change in breached levee wetland restoration sites in San Francisco Bay and the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, CA, and technical evaluations of federal and state coastal restoration programs in Louisiana.
