Created with Processing, the Bristol Bay calculator compares possible changes in resources and value between the current salmon fishery and proposed Pebble Mine in Bristol Bay, Alaska. Users can control what variables are compared and watch the impacts of mining unfold on the local ecosystem. Users can also toggle a tailings dam failure, in which the mining waste contaminates the environment, resulting in the simultaneous collapse of the fishery and the mine.
