Regardless of immigration status, you have rights and civil liberties. It is very important to know:<\/p>\n

  1. You have the right to remain silent<\/strong> \u2013 immigration officers can use anything you say against you.<\/li>\n
  2. You have the right to refuse search of your car or home\u2013 ask to see a warrant.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. You have the right to call an attorney \u2013<\/strong> have the information of an attorney somewhere safe and easy to get.<\/li>\n
  4. You can refuse to sign anything that you do not understand \u2013 do not sign any documents.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
