{"id":80,"date":"2015-06-25T02:34:52","date_gmt":"2015-06-25T02:34:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/ecc\/lwb\/?page_id=80"},"modified":"2017-11-09T02:40:09","modified_gmt":"2017-11-09T10:40:09","slug":"the-model-impact","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/ecc\/lwb\/testing\/the-model-impact\/","title":{"rendered":"The Model &#038; Impact"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The\u00a0Leadership Without Borders (LWB) Undocu Model is a blueprint for the development of programs and intiatives that advance the development of a\u00a0comprehensive pathway for undocumented students&#8217; access and success at institutions of higher education and beyond.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #4b2e83;\"><strong>The Model<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<div class=\"accordion \" id=\"accordion\">\n<div class=\"screen-reader-text\"><\/div>\n<p>The LWB Undocu Model consists of four core components: Empowerment, Equity, Education, &amp; Empathy.\u00a0Each component\u00a0describes a specific area of work as well as specific objectives for how LWB works to support and partner with undocumented students. Collectively, the model provides the foundation for the development of a space dedicated to serving undocumented students and the fulfillment of our mission:\u00a0to create an empowering, inclusive, equitable, and supportive culture for undocumented students at the University of Washington and beyond.<\/p>\n<div class=\"card\">\n<div class=\"card-header\" id=\"accordion-header\">\n<h3 class=\"mb-0\"><button class=\"btn btn-link\" type=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#collapse\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse\"><span class=\"btn-text\">Empowerment: A launchpad for undocumented students<\/span><span class=\"arrow-box\"><span class=\"arrow\"><\/span><\/span><\/button><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"collapse\" class=\"collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion\" role=\"region\">\n<p>The LWB offers\u00a0a space where students can access resources\u00a0to discover, construct, and\u00a0expand their own brand of leadership and work towards creating a more equitable and inclusive\u00a0campus community and society.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card\">\n<div class=\"card-header\" id=\"accordion-header\">\n<h3 class=\"mb-0\"><button class=\"btn btn-link\" type=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#collapse\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse\"><span class=\"btn-text\">Equity: A concerted effort to increase equity for undocumented students.<em> <\/em><\/span><span class=\"arrow-box\"><span class=\"arrow\"><\/span><\/span><\/button><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"collapse\" class=\"collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion\" role=\"region\">\n<p>The LWB works to provide access to and expand a network of partners and allies dedicated to working with and for undocumented students. The LWB is a hub and connecting point to resources and support for all undocumented students.<span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\"><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"card\">\n<div class=\"card-header\" id=\"accordion-header\">\n<h3 class=\"mb-0\"><button class=\"btn btn-link\" type=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#collapse\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse\"><span class=\"btn-text\">Education: A trainings and education program to raise awareness and increase the number of allies to undocumented students. <\/span><span class=\"arrow-box\"><span class=\"arrow\"><\/span><\/span><\/button><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"collapse\" class=\"collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion\" role=\"region\">\n<p>The LWB leads the way in providing undocu ally trainings for staff, educators, and administrators on campus as well as to other off-campus organizations; including colleges, school districts, and community organizations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"card\">\n<div class=\"card-header\" id=\"accordion-header\">\n<h3 class=\"mb-0\"><button class=\"btn btn-link\" type=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-target=\"#collapse\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse\"><span class=\"btn-text\">Empathy: A commitment to radical community building and compassion. <\/span><span class=\"arrow-box\"><span class=\"arrow\"><\/span><\/span><\/button><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"collapse\" class=\"collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion\" role=\"region\">\n<p>The LWB promotes collaboration, inclusion, and equity across campus and the at-large community through events and partnerships.
