Learners
What course features or interventions will help each learner?
Dakota - Dyslexic
- Great at oral assignments but reluctant to complete written work
- In denial about dyslexia; not registered with campus Disability Resources for Students.
- Rarely reads full articles; prefers to videos and podcasts.
Morgan - Mobile user
- Limited internet bandwidth at home because uses a shared computer with other family members.
- Uses mobile phone for most internet activities: banking, social medial, email, school.
- Pays for data overages.
Instructors
What course features or interventions will help each instructor teach ECE online?
Ronnie - Rural
- Heartland background. Educated in a major city but moved back to the community for family.
- Understands technology but no access to steady internet.
- Community College faculty. Serves as department lead but resources are scarce.
Beta - Bilingual
- Multilingual educator. Learned English in school and teaches in two languages.
- In-person instructor. Very personable and communicates with body language.
- Unsure about DEI online. Curious about how to address disability, gender, race, SES in online environment.
