Andrew Sher has a Master's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California in San Diego, a B.S. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Washington, and a B.A. in 3D Animation from UW. He had worked in the Doty lab first as an undergraduate researcher 2013-2014, then as a Research Tech in 2014, returning to the lab as a Research Scientist 2 in July 2018. Andrew's expertise is in molecular plant-microbe interactions
Dr. Khan has a B.S. in Microbiology/Zoology/Chemistry from Osmania University in India, and a M.S. in Environmental Chemistry and Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Technology, both from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in India. Her postdoctoral research was in bioremediation at the University of Blaise-Pascal in France. She came to the University of Washington in 2006 where she did postdoctoral research in bioremediation and N fixation. She was a research scientist in the Doty Lab 2010-2017. Zareen now conducts biochemistry research for Prof. McKean.
Dr. Firrincieli has a Ph.D in Science, Technology and Biotechnology for Sustainability from the University of Tuscia, Italy; a Master's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, and a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, both from the University of Bologna. His expertise is in bioinformatics with emphases on phytoremediation and plant-microbe interactions. He joins the Doty Lab in Sept. 2018
Other previous research scientists in our lab were Dr. Regina Redman, Neil Fleck, and Pierre Joubert
