Naveen Arunachalam Sakthiyendran

Naveen is a Junior majoring in Physiology at the University of Washington. His current research project is working on finding potential drug candidates to treat symptoms of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) using a novel semi-throughput drug screen platform. Through cell culture, Naveen is producing cultured cardiac muscle cells to study contraction and relaxation kinetics between the wild type and diseased models on a Microelectrode Array (MEA) plate. Being on the pre-medical track, Naveen aspires to become an Orthopaedic Surgeon while also contributing to research.
