Family medicine training both at the medical school in Malawi, as well as at the postgraduate/residency program level is making great progress. Previous UW DFM Global Health graduate Dr Anna McDonald is pictured in this newsletter with colleagues at Mangochi Hospital, where residents from Swedish FMR and other WWAMI Residency Programs take part in an ongoing exchange program. Dr Martha Makwero, who holds an affiliate appointment with the UW Department of Family Medicine, has enrolled in a PhD program in South Africa, and Dr John Parks has now been selected to serve as Head of Department.
