Juan Pablo A Paredes
Juan Pablo "JP" A. Paredes joined the Department of Family Medicine, Research Section, on January 3, 2017. He held previous positions in the Departments of Pathology, Radiology and the Clean Energy Institute, bringing with him over two and a half decades of experience in the UW system supporting high-profile faculty. As Program Coordinator, he supports the Collaborative for Rural Primary care Research, Education, and Practice (Rural PREP), and the Center for Health Workforce Studies (CHWS).
JP is active in the community, writing a regular monthly opinion column in a community broadsheet for the past 16 years. He sits on the Board of a senior services non-profit, the International Drop-In Center (http://www.idicseniorcenter.org/). He is President of the Filipino Cultural Heritage Society of Washington. In partnership with some 20 community organizations, FCHSW serves as the umbrella organization that produces the annual "Pagdiriwang" (celebration) Philippine festival at the Seattle Center, one of 24 ethnic cultural festivals under the Festal Cultural Festivals program (http://www.seattlecenter.com/festal/). JP served for 3 years (2012-2015) as a member of the Washington State Supreme Court's Practice of Law Board.
