The First Year Required Preceptorship More information on required preceptorships
Students are required to complete a preceptorship during your first year either in Family Medicine, Pediatrics, or Internal Medicine. You will be asked to submit preferences for specialty and time frame (autumn, winter, or spring quarter) for your required preceptorship at the end of orientation week, after you’ve had a chance to learn more about the available experiences. Once your required preceptorship is assigned you are then welcome to schedule additional preceptorships.
If you’re a first year, you must wait until after your required preceptorship is assigned to arrange an additional preceptorship. Second years are free to schedule a preceptorship at any time. The traditional timeline to secure a preceptorship is 2-5 weeks prior to the quarter you’d like to enroll in.
If you would like to sign up for a family medicine preceptorship email Ivan Henson, email@example.com to get a survey that will provide us with information used to find the best preceptor match for you. The course coordinator will contact you within one week of completing the survey.
