The preclinical and clinical requirements for the Underserved Pathway allow students to select from existing courses that have either an underserved focus or take place in a setting that cares for people who are vulnerable or underserved.
If you are interested in a course or clerkship that is not listed here, speak with a Underserved Pathway advisor to request pre-approval for fulfilling pathway requirements. If a clerkship is held at more than one site, partial Underserved Pathway credit may be given for the time spent in settings that care for people who are underserved within that clerkship. Again, this must be approved PRIOR to taking the course or clerkship that is not listed here in order to receive credit.
We will continue to add to our list and appreciate you bringing to our attention courses and clerkships for us to consider.
Students are encouraged to complete required clerkships in settings that provide care for underserved populations.
