Limericks

Said a certain Patrick D. Wall

In explaining the pain of it all,

“The pain in our brain

Lies mainly in the gain

Of a gate presynaptical”.

A certain Miss Lear was employed

In expounding the theories of Freud

But due to some hex

The subject of sex

She more often discussed than enjoyed.

I once had a teacher named Brzysky

Whose demeanor was not very frzysky.

He taught economics,

Not a subject for comics,

So his jokes could never be rzysky.

A physics professor named Morse

Proposed a potential whose curve was off course.

When he was asked why

His immediate reply

Was “the cause is of course my Morse force!”

Bus Practice

(Created during a pilgrimage to India “Following in the Footsteps of the Buddha”)

Reality speeds quickly past my window

Intricate worlds in rapid succession.

Too fast for thought

But just right for awakening.

The “Fetz Fest” was a satellite symposium of the 2018 Society for Neuroscience meeting in San Diego.  The symposium was organized by Steve Perlmutter, who invited former collaborators and current colleagues to participate in a one-day celebration of the career and quirks of Eberhard Fetz.  About 80 attended the day of talks and/or the evening banquet.  The program lists talks given by former students and collaborators [Program.pdf].
