I mentor student entrepreneurs because I have learned a ton of hard lessons over 20 years of being entrepreneur. I feel strongly that our society and economy needs more entrepreneurs. Anything I can do to encourage young, aspiring entrepreneurs and help them avoid some pitfalls is satisfying for me. More selfishly, I also get to retroactively reprocess these lessons and my interpretation of them in different contexts which is helpful to me as I continue to evolve as an entrepreneur.
