Research Interests

As a GenOM ALVA intern during the summer of 2017 and part of the Carothers Lab, Maritza's project involved working on making a computational model using the T7 RNA polymerase for genetic circuit design, breaking down a dual channel system into single channels with different chemicals of induction. This was tested on two different E. Coli strains with aTc as well as HSL induction. Designing a computational model will later become useful as there will be versatility on what kind of E. Coli strain is being used as well as what chemical of induction is placed.
