Posted on January 18th, 2013

From DOM Week:

Three DOM research projects were approved in this round of funding by the Royalty Research Fund (RRF). The RRF is funded from royalty and licensing fee income generated by the UW’s technology transfer program and strives to advance new directions in research. These awards are highly competitive, with only 35 of 132 proposals receiving funding this year.

Dr. David Koelle, professor (Allergy and Infectious Diseases), received an award to study “Immune signature of shingles vaccination in humans;” Dr. Eirini Papapetrou, assistant professor (Hematology), for “Development of an iPS cell-based model of myelodsplasia with chromosome 7 deletions; and Dr. Ellen Schur, assistant professor (General Internal Medicine) for “A translational neuroimaging approach to investigate structural changes in the hypothalamus of obese humans.”
