Dr. John Amory is elected to the American Society for Clinical Investigation

The department congratulates the newly elected American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI) members from the Department of Medicine – Drs. John Amory (General Internal Medicine), Bryan Kestenbaum (Nephrology) and Nona Sotoodehnia (Cardiology). The ASCI, founded in 1908, is a medical honor society of more than 3,000 physician-scientists.  The ASCI will be electing 80 new members for 2013, out of 181 nominations. Drs. Amory, Kestenbaum and Sotoodehnia will be officially welcomed to the membership at the ASCI/AAP joint meeting in April. 

Dr. Amory, professor in the division of General Internal Medicine, is a graduate of the UCSF and holds an MPH from the University of Washington. He is the UWMC General Internal Medicine Section Head. His research is in male contraception, androgens in aging, testosterone deficiency and male infertility. He has received numerous honors and awards, including the Beeson Award for Excellence in Housestaff Teaching, the Endocrine Society International Award for Excellence in Published Clinical Research, the Young Andrologist Award from the American Society of Andrology, and has been named one of Seattle Magazine’s Best Doctors.
