CoLAB ("Collaborating with Strangers") Workshop
As part of GIS Day, we'll be hosting a Collaborating with Strangers (CoLAB) workshop designed to connect UW GIS students, faculty and researchers to on-campus resources, networks and creative opportunities that are relevant to each other's work. The event is a group process that uses speed meetings in which participants quickly reveal their passions, skills and resources that may otherwise take months of conversations to uncover. It may sound odd, but it's amazing the connections you can make with people in only three minutes of directed conversation!
The goal of CoLAB is to create a fun and engaging environment in which participants can meet each other, exchange ideas, and build new foundations to start or improve upon current projects. Post-workshop offerings will enable participants to follow up with people they met during the speed meetings, with the goal of expanding the collaborative impact of the workshop. By meeting other GIS users on campus, you may discover technical assistance, potential collaborations, research inspiration -- or even a new group of people that share the same love of ultimate frisbee or homebrewing. Plus, afterwards is the GIS Day Happy Hour, where you can keep the conversation going!

Two CoLAB participants will be selected at random to win a $50 UW Bookstore gift card. Make sure to stick around for this workshop!
