A New Soda Experience: PepsiCo’s Design Edge

Overview

Design doesn’t necessarily mean new. It can also mean expanding and innovating on products that are already working. PepsiCo did just that! By using design thinking they created a new way for users to interact with their product that puts customization and user experience at the heart of their product.

 

Process

  • Created iPhone-inspired soda fountain machines with user feedback to improve customization.
  • Allowed users to experience a completely new way of enjoying the same products.
  • Think outside the box to what hasn’t been done by competitors.

 

Results/Outcome

Now users are able to have complete control over the outcome of their products. They’re able to customize soda flavors, make new flavors, and enjoy an experience that is hands-on and interactive.
