While AIDS-related deaths are decreasing in children and adults, they are increasing in adolescents, which is why strategies for prevention and treatment of adolescents is a major focus of our priority area. By focusing on\u00a0interventions during\u00a0critical life stages\u00a0for pregnant women, infants, and adolescents,\u00a0we\u00a0can prevent HIV from persisting throughout the duration of a person\u2019s life and into the next generation.<\/p>\n<p>This is how we\u00a0will\u00a0transform HIV testing and treatment approaches\u00a0and achieve an AIDS free generation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/globalwach\/research-discovery\/hiv-and-co-infections-through-the-lifecycle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>This is HIV Through the Lifecycle.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today we introduce our Scientific Priority Area\u00a0of HIV through the Lifecycle.
