Despite challenges due to the pandemic, our researchers continue to lead innovative studies with local and international partners to improve woman, adolescent, and child health, and even receive funding to launch new studies!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jeanne Goodman, MPH<br \/>\nProject Operations Specialist<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jeanne is the Project Operations Specialist for the DeWorm3 Project, a multi-site trial that is testing the feasibility of breaking transmission of soil-transmitted helminths (parasitic worms) through community-based mass drug administration.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kelsey Kinderknecht, MPH<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Research Coordinator<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kelsey joins our brilliant team of Research Coordinators and will be supporting a seroprevalence study on COVID-19 prevalence, household transmission, and antibody response among pregnant women and household members in King County, WA.\u00a0 Findings may provide insight on immunity against the novel disease.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jusufu Paye, MPH<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Neglected Tropical Diseases Community of Practice Program Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jusufu is the Community of Practice (CoP) Program Manager and will be facilitating a digitally-supported CoP platform for African Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) program managers.\u00a0 Through the CoP, participants can learn from one another in-person and online and collaborate in the pursuit of reaching national and global NTD benchmarks.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emily Yoshioka, MPH<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Research Coordinator<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Emily also joins our team as a Research Coordinator to support multiple studies under the Gut Health and Child Survival scientific priority area. The studies focus on improving childhood nutrition and identifying risk factors in sick children for targeted interventions in hopes of improving health outcomes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to introduce the newest members to join the Global WACh team.
