The protocol supplement describes the study rationale and current <em>Shigella <\/em>vaccine landscape, Consortium governance structure, epidemiologic and laboratory methods, and country site descriptions (Bangladesh, The Gambia, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Pakistan, and Peru).<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The EFGH study\u2019s grant funding supported a planning phase from 2021-2022 that enabled protected time for EFGH Consortium investigators to co-develop the study protocol, standard operating procedures, develop training materials, and establish shared goals and a strong scientific foundation to facilitate collaborative engagement. \u00a0The protocol supplement underscores the EFGH Consortium\u2019s priorities of advancing responsible and equitable research partnerships, equitable authorship practices, shared decision making, as well as early career investigator mentorship programs centered on partner-identified training and capacity building priorities.<\/p>\n<p>The supplement introduction highlights the <a href=\"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/efgh\/efgh-rising-star-seed-award\/\">Rising Star Seed Award<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/efgh\/efgh-manuscript-writing-certificate-program\/\">Manuscript Writing Certificate<\/a> Programs, administered by Global WACh consortium members, designed to provide structured training and mentorship support to early career researchers within the consortium using already collected data from the study.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sixteen articles authored by the Enterics for Global Health (EFGH) Shigella surveillance study Consortium were recently published in the March 2024 issue of Open Forum Infectious Diseases.
