In July, researchers affiliated with UW\/Global WACh and partner institutions attended two annual conferences held in Rio de Janeiro: The International Workshop on Pediatrics & HIV <\/strong>and AIDS 2026, the<\/strong> International AIDS Conference. <\/strong>Both conferences are highly influential meetings on cutting-edge HIV research and its applications to move science into policy and practice.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe BONDS Study: A multi-country study with planned interventions to understand and improve long-term outcomes for children and adolescents with perinatal HIV exposure\u201d<\/a><\/strong> presented by Dr. Irene Njuguna<\/a> (Emory University; Kenyatta National Hospital; Global WACh Advisor, Partnership and Collaboration) at the 12th Symposium on Children and Adolescents with Perinatal HIV Exposure<\/em> pre-conference session titled, \u201cLong-term follow-up: From data to action.\u201d <\/strong>The session looked at why it matters to consistently track perinatal HIV and antiretroviral exposure to understand long-term outcomes.<\/p>\n
