Dr. Christina Fitzmaurice is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) and Department of Health Metrics Sciences at the University of Washington where she oversees the cancer estimation process for the Global Burden of Disease study. She is also a hematologist/oncologist who sees patients with benign hematological disorders as well as cancers at the University of Washington Harborview Medical Center. Her education and training include an M.D. from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, a Master of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, residency in internal medicine at the University of Wisconsin and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of Washington/Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle. Her research interest is in global oncology, and cancer disparities.
