He is also an affiliate assistant professor at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), University of Washington, for his work on the Global Burden of Disease Study where he is responsible for the epidemilogical modelling of autism spectrum disorders (ASD), fetal alcohol syndrome, and alcohol dependence. Damian\u2019s PhD investigated emotion regulation in adolescents and young adults with ASD. This project involved managing the first randomised controlled trial of a group cognitive behavioural intervention targeting depression in adolescents with ASD ever conducted.
