Pan-Hispanic Ballad Project

This is the home of a long-range Pan-Hispanic Ballad Project which brings online several interrelated databases that will provide students in this field with useful tools for their researches:

1. an exhaustive, critical bibliography of Pan-Hispanic Balladry,
2. a large corpus of texts representative of Pan-Hispanic ballads documented worldwide since the 15th century,
3. digitized reproductions of original oral performances or their musical notation, and
4. cartographic display of the primary and seconday data.

The bibliographic and textual databases and audio archive are currently operational.

This site is under development and is updated frequently. It is a reference source, intended primarily for research and educational use. Copying, printing, or distributing any of its contents without the permission of the author of the web site is expressly prohibited.
