So, What’s The Plan Stan

Through my learnings so far about the Anthropocene the things aspect that stands out the most is that we know nothing, and when I say nothing I mean what fools we are to put ourselves in a predicament like this without a plan.

In my time on this planet, in this epoch I’ve learned a few important things such as you can’t rely on just anyone for anything, and cause and effect is real people. I want to tie this into the idea proposed by the film Anthropocene that humanity has become a great force of nature much like earthquakes or hurricanes. We have the ability to destroy, and EASILY at that, all while being mindless and unintentional in our actions that can and will cause unthinkable damage to our earth. When I say you can’t rely on anyone for anything I mean that this is just as much my problem as it is yours or anyone else’s, yet we go on waiting for a change when there is a global disaster waiting to happen. What is so terrifying is that we know we’re killing ourselves and yet we continue. We are emotional beings and most of us do care, and want to be good, but how can when we when so much of what we so is not in the grand scheme. The film pointed out to me that we’ve done a lot to get ourselves to where we are and we are aware of it, but even all of the specialists from a lawyer to a scientist can’t piece together a foolproof way to save ourselves, and maybe we’re destined not to.

Very much a recommended movie.
