Susan Lally-Chiu: Drawings from our Edible Gardens

Are you growing food this summer? Fruits and vegetables fresh from the garden entice cooks and artists alike. Our next exhibitor, Susan Lally-Chiu, celebrates the diversity of our locally grown vegetables and fruits through elegant large scale drawings, colorful watercolor sketches with pen, delicate linocuts and a series of sketchbooks. 

Artwork will be on display and for sale June 13-July 29, with a portion of the sales donated to the Miller Library Fund.

Library Manager Brian Thompson served on the American Horticultural Society Book Award committee this year. To celebrate, we're featuring the 2017 American Horticultural Society Book Award winners in a display near the library entrance. Visitors can stop at the desk to borrow items directly from the display, or place holds online. Come early for the best selection! The winners are:

Miller Library welcomes youSummer hours and special closures

Regular library visitors will want to mark their calendars with our summer hours. June 19 through September 18 the library will be open noon to 8 pm Mondays.  Tuesday through Friday each week we will remain open 9-5 throughout the summer, with the exception of all-day closures on Wednesday, June 28 and Tuesday, July 4.

As usual, the library will be closed Saturdays in July and August, allowing more time for gardening!
