December 8, 2024Free. No pre-registration required. This UW Campus Tree Tour is an excellent way to get to know more about some of the evergreen trees that have given Washington its nickname. Get to know some of the species that compose the distinctive forests of the Pacific Northwest. We will also be discussing some of the fossil history of the state's forests & looking at how a changing climate is shifting the composition of our forests. December 14, 2024Cost: $25, advance registration required. Forest bathing has been popular in Japan for decades & is gaining momentum in the US. The practice encourages you to walk in the forest at a slower pace & take in the atmosphere around you. These walks are slow-paced & generally cover less than a mile of trail. During this time the guide will offer a series of invitations crafted to help participants slow down & open their senses.
