This means all facts, figures, ideas, methods and analysis that were previously published in text, video, audio or graphic formats. It doesn&#8217;t matter if the information is used verbatim or not. If the information is not original then the source(s) must be cited. <a href=\"https:\/\/ctl.yale.edu\/writing\/using-sources\">Detailed examples of citation from Yale.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Citation gives papers credibility and authority. A paper which does not cite sources may be considered plagiarized, and plagiarism is grounds for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/studentconduct\/disciplinary-sanctions\/\">sanctions<\/a>. Give credit when credit is due. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plagiarism.org\/citing-sources\/whats-a-citation\">More reasons to cite<\/a> from Plagiarism.org.<\/p>\n<p>There are many tools and methods for <a href=\"http:\/\/guides.lib.washington.edu\/citation-tools\">managing citations<\/a> &amp; sources. When writing a rough draft, add in the citations as brief notes.
