What could be the cause of this?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cindy Haynes of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipm.iastate.edu\/ipm\/hortnews\/2006\/4-19\/peonies.html\">Iowa State University of Extension<\/a> has a helpful list of possible reasons peonies may fail to flower. If there are no buds, it may be due to: not enough sun; recently transplanted; planted too deeply; too much fertilizer; need to be divided (clumps too big); plants immature; premature removal of foliage (in July or August).
