It does not have to be comprehensive. Many sites talk about them and mention only a couple.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A search of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ibiblio.org\/ecolandtech\/NAFEX\/message-archives\/old\/msg03129.html\">North American Fruit Explorers<\/a> discussion group refers to a list from the USDA Agricultural Information Service which has since been removed from their website. I found an extensive list of tip-bearing and partial tip-bearing apples from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.royaloakfarmorchard.com\/pdf\/Apple_Fruiting.pdf\">Royal Oak Farm Orchard<\/a>. The list was prepared by Ted Swensen of the Home Orchard Society.<\/p>\n<p>According to Michael Phillips, author of <a href=\"http:\/\/hortlib.kohacatalog.com\/cgi-bin\/koha\/opac-detail.pl?biblionumber=11521\"><em>The Apple Grower<\/em><\/a> (Chelsea Green, 2005), most apples are spur-bearing or a combination of spur- and tip-bearing; only about 1% of all varieties are solely tip-bearers (such as Cortland and Russet).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I would like to find a site that has a list of tip-bearing apple varieties.
